God Is Love
October 17, 2008
There is good news! God is love. He showed us what His love is like by sending His Son to die for our sins. And when we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and given the Holy Spirit, which compels us to love others with the same kind of love God first showed us.
This message was given by Mark Babin at Green Acres Baptist Church in Athens, Georgia, USA on 14 January 2001. If you listen to only one sermon the rest of your life, let it be this one. It proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and also ends up succinctly explaining what being a Christian is all about. On this particular occasion the Lord’s Supper was celebrated, and you will hear that mentioned. My apologies for the audio quality; this was originally recorded as a cassette tape and there is some tape hiss.
